The Austrian 100 Krone gold coin is a popular investment among collectors. The 100 crown coin has a long history since its introduction on the anniversary of the throne of the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I in 1908. It served as the official means of payment in Austria-Hungary until 1915. The front shows the portrait of Emperor Franz Joseph I, which has been changed several times, and the year of issue underneath. The double-headed eagle, the heraldic animal of the Austrian Empire, is depicted on the back. The 100 crown coin has a gross weight of 33.875 g, with a fineness of 900/1000. A special feature of the crown is that it was minted until 1988. This restrike offered here is dated 1915, the last minting date of the 100 crowns.
